Europe is making its mark in artificial intelligence with Le Chat, described as the world's fastest AI assistant, developed by French start-up Mistral AI. Founded in 2016, Cerebras Systems developed the Wafer Scale Engine (WSE-3), the world's largest chip, with four trillion transistors and 900,000 cores, optimised for AI. The chip delivers faster inference and lower energy consumption than Nvidia GPUs, enabling Le Chat to provide immediate responses through its Flash Answers feature.

The Le Chat update includes a new software architecture that improves the analysis of complex documents, including PDFs and scanned images, using advanced OCR models. The platform now also supports photorealistic image generation with Black Forest Labs' Flux Ultra model and provides an environment for running and analysing code, useful for developers and data analysts.

Le Chat is available on mobile devices through iOS and Android apps and is expected to be deployed on private enterprise infrastructure soon.
